I think something happened to him during that time. I don't know what, though, and it doesn't surprise me that he hasn't told you, either.
He doesn't seem to think that the rest of you would be at all troubled by how that game went for your unit, but I told him I didn't think that would be the case.
an entertaining thing to do would be to replace every instance of “for ritual purposes” in any archeology article with “for funsies”
