He really doesn't like confrontation, but it's not something you can really get through life here avoiding. I think he's just talked himself into believing there's two possibilities with no room for compromise, and that's of course not true. There's always room for compromise.
Not that I'd argue with the way you played, though, since ordinarily that's the playstyle people would be taking our unit to task for.
Certainly that's a stance I can agree with. Flexibility and compromise are usually the best tools to aid a group in working together, even with differing opinions.
Getting everyone to share their opinion, and consider everyone else's in working together toward a mostly satisfying agreement... it seems like there's a lot of history prior to my arrival that makes it hard to do.
Your unit certainly wouldn't be alone in that... but it doesn't make it less difficult. I certainly sympathize, though our trouble is less in getting everyone to be opinionated.
...I have some advantages in being able to track Hurricane down, so if there's ever an emergency, let me know.
Oh, he gets bad nightmares. There's a few people to whom I try and give a bit of relief from that and he's one of them, so I'm familiar with what his dreams look like. Once he falls asleep I can usually find him, no matter where he is in the city.
I'm happy to—after all, I'm naturally a bit of a meddler and I used to teach young people about his age, so it's the sort of thing that's second nature.
My guess is that if something did indeed happen while he was missing, it involved a member of 10IV, and that as a result he might not be able to speak of it.
